# Data Ownership

You own it. I know you are sick of how many times I have stated this, but we have a strong stance on this.

We are developing a special digital asset that gives proof of ownership over your data, that is encoded using our proprietary software. In the beginning we may have to store data on AWS servers. They can not access or read it, due to the encryption process used, but we still want to move to decentralized solutions, and are currently talking to a few groups that fit the bill.

**Free plans** - There is always a caveat. Anything that is free, is paid for in some other way. The easiest assumption is - If you pay, there is no need for your data. If you use the free models, we may use some data to train our models. Data will not be sold to other companies, some will be used to train our base models without leaking personal data.

> WE WILL NEVER GIVE/SELL YOUR DATA TO ANOTHER COMPANY OR ENTITY.

We hope that this very firm approach will enable us to move other companies in this direction as we grow. It is not going to be easy to make the shift since they will be losing out on selling your data, but we believe it is something that needs to be addressed. \
\
**We are already reaching out to platforms that monetize data, so that our uses can choose to migrate and sell their info if they so choose.**

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://skillful-ai.gitbook.io/skillful-ai-public-docs/memory-and-controlling-your-data/memory-solutions-and-user-data/data-ownership.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
